The FMF joins Concacaf against any type of discriminatory expression.
The Federation reiterates its position against discriminatory shouting in stadiums and supports the Confederation in the implementation of measures and actions to eradicate it.
The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) reiterates its position of zero tolerance to any type of offensive or discriminatory manifestation in stadiums and supports Concacaf in the implementation of efforts and protocols aimed at preventing shouting during the match for third place against Panama, of the Nations League in Las Vegas, and during the next Gold Cup in US territory.
The FMF has made significant efforts against discriminatory shouting since 2018 with various awareness-raising actions to prevent these expressions.
Furthermore, for this purpose, the Federation unreservedly supports communication efforts to prevent and eradicate discriminatory shouting, promoting a cultural change in stadiums in Mexico and the United States.
Considering the above and seeking to continue working against discriminatory manifestations, the FMF categorically condemns any expression that encourages discrimination during football matches.
For this reason, the FMF will at all times condemn expressions such as those that occurred during the Concacaf Nations League semifinal between Mexico and the United States and will encourage the activation of protocols by referees and security personnel during the following matches.
