History
Federación Mexicana de Fútbol was founded on August 23, 1927, replacing Federación Central, by the seven teams constituting the Major League of the Federal District and its first chairman was Humberto Garza Ramos.
The Mexican football history started to be regulated by FIFA in 1929 and the first championship supported by Federación Mexicana de Fútbol was held in the 1927-1928 Season, in which eight teams participated.
Throughout its history, Federación Mexicana de Fútbol has organized two World Cups, in 1970 and 1986; two World Cups for youth categories in 1983 (U-20) and 2011 (U-17); and one FIFA Confederations Cup in 1999. It has been designated to host the FIFA World Cup in 2026, together with Canada and the United States.
The offices of Federación Mexicana de Fútbol are located in Toluca, State of Mexico.
