Federación Mexicana de Fútbol obtains the ESR Distinction

The distinction was awarded by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy and the Alliance for Social Responsibility during the 15th Latin American Meeting of Socially Responsible Companies. The FMF works to capitalize on the spotlight of football for different causes, including childhood obesity, gender equality, and non-discrimination

Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) is proud to receive the Socially Responsible Company Distinction (ESR) awarded by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (Cemefi) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility for Mexico (AliaRSE), which recognize companies that promote social responsibility, positively impacting the development and sustainability of the country.

The FMF promotes the practice of football committed to positively inspire Mexicans and is aware of the great responsibility and universality of the language of football, which is why it has worked to join efforts, among others, in three major issues and projects of great relevance for our country: childhood obesity, gender equality and non-discrimination.

The FMF has responded to the issue of childhood obesity in Mexico with the development of the Jugamos Todos program, designed to promote physical activity among children which, hand in hand with the SEP, has managed to impact more than 26 million people in our country and whose methodology contributes to improve the physical activity of children during their sports class by tripling the effective minutes in it. During the pandemic, Jugamos Todos also promoted family ties and family activity.

This program seeks to raise awareness of a very important problem in Mexico in order to influence the future of children by reducing the risk of obesity and promoting a healthy lifestyle and healthy coexistence in them and their families.

In terms of gender equity, the FMF believes that sport, and football in particular, is one of the most powerful tools for giving women of all ages power, voice and space, and has a solid strategy to promote women's football based on three pillars: attracting talent, sports development and the development of the spectacle.

This not only develops the talent of female athletes, but also their ability to inspire and empower girls and women to achieve their goals on and off the field.

On the issue of non-discrimination, the FMF has undertaken various awareness-raising efforts, supported by the knowledge and experience of CONAPRED, among others, such as the Grita México movement, undertaken to support all disciplinary measures and communication efforts that, since 2019 have been implemented for the eradication of discriminatory chant in stadiums.

"We are very grateful and, above all, committed to capitalizing on the spotlight of Nuestro Fútbol to generate a positive impact," expressed Yon de Luisa, President of the FMF.

The FMF congratulates Liga MX and other institutions and companies for having received the ESR distinction, which represents a public commitment to social responsibility and its good practices for the development of our community.
